The Black Walnut Festival is much more than just a bunch of nuts. The event also includes a Grand Parade with marching bands, floats and antique tractors and a Kids' Day Parade with local children riding everything from red wagons, strollers and skates to tricycles, bicycles and three-wheelers. Another big draw is a carnival with dozens of games and rides for children and adults. Tickets must be purchased for some carnival attractions. Other activities include live street music, a 5K Nut Run and Walk, flea market, flower show, arts and craft booths, a quilt show and contest, a classic car show and livestock displays.
